PINELLAS COUNTY

RPS Officer Josh Allison observed a subject cast netting. The subject caught several fish
over the period of an hour and placed them in a bucket. Officer Allison made contact with
the subject and a resource inspection revealed that he was in possession of several mullet
and a small snook. A citation was issued for possession of snook during the closed season,
possession of undersized snook, and snook taken by illegal method.

Trout

DUVAL COUNTY

Officer Jill Izsak and Reserve Officer Tom Quinlan were on land patrol when they
approached a fisherman and asked if he had any luck catching anything. The man said that
he did not, but he had caught a bunch of fish the day before. The inspection revealed that
the man was in compliance. Upon returning to their patrol vehicle, Officer Izsak observed a
bucket full of fish in the bed of a truck. A records check showed the truck belonged to the
subject just checked. Officer Izsak approached the man and asked to inspect the bucket.
The officers discovered one undersized spotted seatrout and five undersized bluefish. A
citation was issued for possessing an undersized spotted seatrout and warnings were
issued for the undersized bluefish.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

At Gandy Boat Ramp, RPS Officer Bill Holcomb observed a vessel returning from fishing
in the early morning. Officer Holcomb conducted a fisheries inspection and located a 14
inch red drum and a spotted seatrout. One of the vessel occupants admitted to catching the
fish and was charged with possession of undersized red drum and warned for possessing a
spotted seatrout during the closed season.
