Here's a recap of the first Angler Action Program - Snook Watch event of 2010.  Thanks to all who attended - and remember to keep watch!

altCaptain's meeting was held in the River Palm Chikki Just a short run north of the St. Lucie Inlet, River Palms  provided is a wonderful old Florida style facility located on the scenic Indian River Lagoon, the perfect setting for the Snook Foundation's Angler Action Program - Snook Watch launch!

This incredible location offers a wide variety of inshore flats and beachfront fishing action.  The Fishing Funament's  catch and release oriented fishing contest offered awards for anglers who boat, wade walk and paddle. What was the fishing like?

Break-offs seemed to the theme of the day.“I must have broken off 10 before I got the one to the boat,” said Todd Mangan, who caught a 25-incher. “And they weren’t just breaking me off around docks. They were horsing me and just breaking the leader. And I had 30-pound leader on there.”        Read more from Mike Readling's coverage in TCPALM

But some of the 35 registered anglers had better luck getting them into the boat, although no one landed a Spanish Mackerel in the contest. More than 10 snook were reported caught and released.  Outstanding Aluminum Sculpture Awards were provided by Rob Kozmits.to these winning anglers:
