The coldest winter in recent memory has changed the course of fishery management in Florida forever, bringing a fresh appreciation for the value of our fisheries, the critical role of habitat, and the contributions that each angler can make. Winter, 2010, was just the beginning.
Anglers have responded to the cold kill of 2010, by recording their trip data to contribute to the ongoing assessment of our remaining fish stocks. Out of angler concern and observations, the Angler Action program has taken root, and two years later, your trip reports, compiled in an innovative online log have become an important part of the FWRI's Snook Stock assessment.. Furthermore, additional species have been added so that Redfish, Trout, Snook, Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit are all being followed. Find out more about Angler Action
